The Henri Bismuth Institute trains young surgeons in Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and liver transplantation, under the responsibility of internationally recognized teaching supervisors.
Liver diseases, including liver cancer, continue to increase, notably affecting nearly 500 million people around the world. Patients die without being able to be operated on by specialists.
The Hepato-Biliary Institute is dedicated to developing specialized practical training in Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Hepatic Transplantation, taught by international experts. It is committed to transmitting expertise to surgeons from around the world, and particularly to those from developing countries, in order to:
- develop this specialized activity in their center
- and in turn, train other specialists in their country.

The program is intended for surgeons with six years of experience in surgery after obtaining their medical degree.
